Associate Performance Coach

Job Summary

‘Up and Coming’ Associate Performance Coach. A full time performance role for an up and coming coach with a passion for developing young talent and developing their skills.

The Tennis Cafe Academy is on the lookout for a creative and energetic Associate Performance Tennis Coach to join our coaching team. Renowned for developing talent from the ground up to county, regional, and national levels, we provide an outstanding environment for a passionate performance minded coach.

As part of our award-winning team, this role offers the chance to gain invaluable experience whilst building a reputation for delivering results. The role is full time salaried with paid holidays, pension contributions and offering a food allowance.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver inspirational and challenging group and individual coaching sessions.
  • Deliver regular competitions fostering a love for tennis and emphasising skill development.
  • Keeping a strong, open dialogue with parents, building a community of support.
  • Ensure meticulous record-keeping and swift, effective administration.
  • Working as part of a cohesive coaching team with a united approach and methodology.

Venue and Company description

The Tennis Cafe is at the forefront of performance and development coaching in Sussex, offering a comprehensive range of programs from our performance programme for county-standard juniors to our innovative pre-school Tots Academy. Last year, our dedication to nurturing talent was showcased at the junior County Championships, where our athletes achieved remarkable success: winning three Championships, making six Finals, reaching five Semi-finals, and ten Quarter-finals. 

Our club’s achievements have been recognised with prestigious LTA Awards, including being named the Sussex Community Club of the Year five times, South East Community Club of the Year, and achieving National Runner Up for Community Club of the Year. Our Director of Tennis, Francis Mackie, is the current Tennis Sussex Performance Coach of the Year.

Job duties and responsibilities

  • Squad training
  • Individual sessions
  • Client liaison and administration
  • Tournament support

Candidate qualifications and skills

  • A strong background in performance tennis, demonstrating both personal achievement and a deep understanding of the game.
  • Experience in developing performance players, with a talent for identifying and nurturing talent.
  • A passion for tennis development, underpinned by a belief in long term development and the enjoyment of the sport as the cornerstones of success.
  • Exceptional ability to convey enthusiasm for tennis, inspiring pupils to pursue excellence with joy and determination.
  • Outstanding communication skills, essential for building relationships with players, parents, and within the coaching team.

Benefits

Salary range £25,000 to £32,000
