HEAD COACH

Job Summary

We are now looking for a new head coach in a 100% position and offer competitive conditions, opportunity for personal bonuses and good opportunities for both personal and professional development. The coach is responsible for the team of coaches and the club’s sporting activities.

Venue and Company description

Tennis Club was established in 1980. The club has an indoor hall with two courts. The club has 2 full-time trainers and several part-time trainers employed, and has experienced strong growth in recent years, both in terms of course participants and members. Work is now underway to expand the club’s facilities with 3 new indoor courts (to a total of 5 courts), a new service building and area for other racket sports is also being considered.

Tennis Club’s strategy is “Tennis for the whole family”. The club wants to contribute to more children/young people and their families being able to gather around tennis activities and the ambition is to have offers for active people of all ages.

The club’s activities include tennis courses for all levels, private lessons, TFO (Tennis Fritids Ordning extended school activity), social events and tournaments at different levels. RTK is also an active participant in investment and development of tennis at regional level in Rogaland, an initiative where the region’s clubs collaborate closely and exchange experience and knowledge.

Job duties and responsibilities

Tasks:

Execute the club’s strategic plans and report to the general manager and board

Lead the club’s investments in sports, collaborate with the sports committee.

Organize and manage full-time and part-time coaches and their tasks.

Group training and private lessons for children, youth and adults (tennis school/adult course)

Other tasks may include weekend training for juniors and adults, training during school holidays, kick-off and contributing to other events under the club’s auspices

Recruitment against schools, municipalities and the like

Other pending work

Candidate qualifications and skills

Qualification requirements:

Experience in training all age groups (children, youth, adults).

Experience with management at club level or higher is an advantage, but not a requirement.

ITF coach 2 education, or higher

Personal characteristics:

Good leadership skills

Good communication skills with children, young people and adults

Independent, outgoing, committed, structured

Ability to take initiative for new activities

Solution-oriented and good collaboration skills

Language: Scandinavian language (Norwegian, Swedish, Danish) preferred. English required.
