Strength and Conditioning Coach/Manager

Job Summary 

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated strength and conditioning coach to join our team at our Tennis Academy in South of Spain, Sotogrande!

Venue and Company Description

We are a Tennis Academy based in the South of Spain in Sotogrande, 30 minutes from Marbella. 


We strive to be an international Boutique Style Tennis Academy in the South of Spain and attract foreign players to use us as their training base by using a Systematic , Aligned and Specific approach on an off the court. 

We provide players a pathway to get good scholarships into US College or gain an ATP or WTA ranking. 

We will measure this success by the number of players getting a scholarship each year and by having players ranked in the 20 in Spain, Tennis Europe, ITF and UTR.  

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Hours of work:

  • 30 hours per week on court
  • 10 hours per week off court
  • These hours are need to flexible according to the availability of the players and clients during the week
  • Best attempts will be made to have this hours in blocks together. 


  • To work with STA tennis coaches, Performance Director and Academy Physio to improve performance through developing and evaluating strength and conditioning programmes that reflect scientific principles as they relate to adaptation, periodisation, peaking, tapering and injury rehabilitation
  • To execute and implement  the delivery and development of strength and conditioning for players at STA ( or at tournaments) 
  • To develop a general programme for players during travel at tournaments when there is no S&C coach available 
  • Implement challenging and regular monitoring of performance by a series of tests for all the STA players. 
  • If needed, to supervise the work of other strength and conditioning people including internships during their stay at STA. ,
  • To help create and sustain a healthy vision of STA and promote it to other parties accordingly 
  • To keep records in accordance with relevant legislation and policies and procedures, providing reports as required
  • To ensure and promote equality of opportunity, respecting diversity and recognising the needs of different groups and individuals


  • To be an ambassador for STA both internally and externally communicating and promoting the vision and direction of the TTA with passion
  • To build, manage and maintain strong  relationships and communication within the organisation and work in partnership with other team members
  • To ensure that own work and behaviour is in accordance with professional standards and agreed processes 


  • Weekly online monitoring of planning and communication 
  • Monthly face to face evaluation of the programme of players 

Candidate Qualifications and Skills

The Strength and Conditioning Coach is an essential part of our team. 

The coach will report into Academy Director and the Performance Director. 

The coach needs to have a good knowledge of in the areas of biomechanics, fitness, psychology, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, medical support and nutrition. 

Strength and conditioning encompass the entire development of the player and what is needed to improve physical performance. This includes physical prehab and core work, strength, and power training. Speed, agility, dynamic balance and reaction time development, endurance, flexibility, and tennis specific movement work. 

Strength and conditioning coaches bridge the gap between the theory of training and applied training, helping players to get faster, stronger, more flexible and keep going longer so they perform better and steer clear of injuries. 

The challenge will be to connect it with players, parents and coaches, providing them with tools and practical advice that are both useful and used to bring about performance improvements.  Communication and player management tools will be provided by TTA to the S&C Coach.  

STA ensures that the S&C Coach will get the facilities to his disposal to deliver the goals set out by the Performance Director. 


Budget none or to be agreed with Academy Director upon proposed list 

Fulltime contract.
