To effectively deliver the goals & objectives of Mike Walker Tennis (MWT) in Hong Kong as Senior Coach, working with adults and juniors in groups as well as individually.
Mike Walker Tennis (MWT) is a well-recognized tennis company in Hong Kong with a team of highly experienced coaches. MWT operates within private clubs in Hong Kong, working with players of all ages and levels. We are looking for an energetic, highly motivated Senior Coach to join our team.
Work with the MWT coaching team on court to create a positive training environment for members and member guests at all venues.
Responsible for the key Technical, Tactical, Mental and Physical development of all club members in our groups.
Manage and lead Mini Red, Orange, and Green junior tennis groups as part of a program.
Operate to training schedules & goal setting for the club members in our groups and the monitoring and recording of results.
Lead or assist group sessions and manage the organisation of them at the clubs when required.
Create, build, and sustain effective working relationships and networks with key partners particularly other tennis coaches, committees, staff.
Communicate and work with management and tennis committees to meet the objectives of the clubs.
Continually update knowledge on world’s best practice to ensure best possible information available to all club members. Through regular appraisal and self-analysis find opportunities for personal development.
Build, and maintain strong inter-departmental relationships and communication within the organisation and working in partnership with other team members.
Be an ambassador for MWT both internally and externally, communicating the vision and direction of MWT with passion, and project a positive image of MWT always.
Maintain high standards of discipline and work ethics to ensure success and the right image for MWT Discipline by example and continuity in approach. Ensure that standards are maintained at all levels.
To manage and deliver holiday camps when required.
Work with the team of coaches on a day-to-day basis.
Attend weekly/monthly meetings/calls when required.
Person Specifications:
1) Have the knowledge and an understanding of and commitment to the game of tennis.
2) Have the experience of working at clubs, running kids’ mini tennis and adults group classes.
3) Have the knowledge and an understanding of the needs of club players of all ages and abilities.
4) Have the knowledge and an understanding of how to engage and communicate with and motivate tennis players of all ages, parents, committees and clubs.
5) Have the knowledge and an understanding of Health & Safety and child protection.
6) Able to communicate effectively in writing, in person and by telephone.
7) Able to work effectively as a team.
8) Have a full understanding of international standards in both junior and senior development.
9) Highly self-motivated and enthusiastic.
10) Able to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends.
Essential Requirements:
1) Qualified Coaching Certificate
2) Valid Coaching Licence
3) Excellent communication skills
4) Computer skills
5) Previously coached at clubs
