Job duties and responsibilities
Role & Responsibilities
As a Senior Coach, you will have a leadership role in our coaching team, overseeing player development and supporting junior coaches to deliver consistent, high-quality training. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading advanced training sessions, focusing on high-performance players and those on competitive pathways.
- Providing mentorship and guidance to junior coaches, instructors, and assistant, ensuring alignment with the ITF British tennis system.
- Designing and implementing comprehensive training programs, tailored to individual player needs and academy standards.
- Collaborating closely with the Head Coach to develop strategies for player progress, team cohesion, and program effectiveness.
- Evaluating player performance and making data-driven adjustments to optimise growth and performance.
- Promoting an environment that encourages discipline, motivation, and resilience, supporting both physical and mental aspects of player development.
Candidate qualifications and skills
Qualifications
- ITF Level 2 Qualification (or equivalent certification from a recognised training body) is required.
- Extensive coaching experience with a proven track record in high performance player development.
- Strong leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and develop junior coaches.
- Experience with first aid is preferred, though full training will be provided.
