The Greater Midland Tennis Center (GMTC) is a 16-indoor and 23-outdoor court facility that has hosted the Dow Tennis Classic for over 30 years, as well as numerous local, sectional, national and college championships each year. We offer an aggressive salary plus incentive base compensation.

The Position

Reporting directly to the Director of Tennis, the Coordinator of Leagues and Tournaments oversees all functions related to our adult and junior sanctioned/non-sanctioned tournaments, and our USTA and GMTC conducted leagues. The Coordinator works to ensure efficiency in all aspects of leagues and tournaments that are hosted by GMTC, and plans, manages and performs all administrative and clerical tasks necessary for the operation of leagues and tournaments at GMTC. The Coordinator’s main incentive pay will be based on the success of Tournaments and Leagues within realm of responsibility; the Coordinator will have the opportunity to further develop a professional resume by coaching on the court as well.

Job duties and responsibilities

Major Job Responsibilities

• Create, develop, administrate and oversee new and existing leagues and tournaments, both USTA and GMTC.
• Oversee budget and operations for leagues and tournaments.
• Develop staff and scheduling of all leagues and tournaments.
• Prepare monthly league and tournament status and trend reports for Executive Director.
• Attend USTA Midwest Tournament Director Meeting.
• Be the High School Regional and State Championships Tournament Director.
• Execute responsibilities for the NEMTA Qualifier.
• Prepare USTA Midwest, Michigan and National Tournament bids.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s values on a consistent basis.

Candidate qualifications and skills

Qualification Requirements

• Minimum 1-3 years of experience required running leagues and tournaments.
• Experience with oversite of budgets greater than $50,000 preferred.
• Outstanding organizational and administrative skills.
• A passion to create memorable customer experience for our clients.
• Possess ability to operate TDM and Top Dog software.
• Possess ability to work in the U.S.
