Club Coach

Job Summary 

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic coach to join our established team of three club coaches (level 4 Head Coach and two level 3). Qualified to LTA level 3 or equivalent you will contribute to our programme of coaching activities for all ages, from mini reds through to adult team players. There will be a guaranteed a number of hours within the programme and the opportunity to provide individual lessons (around 25 hrs total per week). Further opportunities to build on the coaching programme and private lessons will be provided following the installation of an additional court at the club in 2022. We are committed to supporting a diverse membership and encourage applications from suitably qualified women coaches.

Venue and Company Description

Our Club is a friendly and inclusive club with excellent facilities and picturesque grounds based in the heart of Dulwich Village, South-East London. The club has 670 members (including 230 juniors) and caters to all standards of junior and adult players, from beginners to competitive match players. The club has seven floodlit courts (three hard and four artificial clay) and is seeking planning permission to construct an eighth court. We have a very active tennis programme of adult group coaching sessions, coach-led club play, after-school and weekend junior coaching and junior holiday camps. There is a keen interest in competitive play with year-round box-leagues and tournaments, and around 20 teams playing in winter and summer Surrey leagues.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Head Coach and the team of coaches to
    drive the junior and adult programme forwards
  • Coaching minis and junior group development sessions and holiday
    camps, cardio (if qualified) and potentially adult team practices
  • Assist the Head Coach in organising junior and adult tournaments.
  • Potentially play matches for the club.

Candidate Qualifications and Skills

  • Enthusiastic and dynamic attitude on and off the court with good
    communication skills
  • Experience of delivering different types of group coaching, from
    juniors and improvers to club team level
  • Well-organised in planning private and group lessons
  • Collaborative and works well in a team.
  • Shares the club's values of inclusion, diversity, and equality of
  • High standard of playing ability.

Short-listed applicants will be invited to an interview and asked to deliver part of an on-court session.
