Join our Summer Camp family in this seasonal, residential role as the director of our tennis program. Kids from the ages of 6-16 join us for a 7 week program, filled with activities in the arts, outdoor sing, water sports, and land sports. Our tennis program is incredibly popular. The tennis director will manage a team of counselors, and have 1 assistant. The director and assistant director are also able to give campers private and semi private tennis lessons for additional pay. Instructional activities are with a full grade of campers. Tennis director should be able to divide campers amongst the staff and create age and level appropriate activities. Tennis director will also lead tournaments with campers against local camps.
Pay includes a summer salary, as well as additional pay per lesson. Housing, food, and laundry are all included. Tennis director will receive 1 day off per week, and nights off. Daily schedule will change depending upon the weather, and if there are any special events that day. This is an incredible opportunity to work with kids of all skill levels, and to work in a very collaborative environment with the rest of the programming and administrative team.
We are a children's sleep away summer camp. We provide housing to all employees during our season. There are 6 tennis courts. Employees can also use the rest of the facility, including: weight room, lake for swimming and boating, basketball courts, baseball fields, soccer fields, arts and crafts facility, and more. We believe that everyone in camp should be able to experience the full program, and be able to see campers excell in multiple departments. All staff watch the kids productions, concerts, talent shows, basketball games, tennis tournaments, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
Documented experience as an instructor, coach.
Certified USTPA Instructor by United States Tennis Association preferred.
At least 21 years old.
Ability to teach skills to various age groups
Ability to work with staff
Desire and ability to work with children
Ability to accept guidance and supervision
Good character, integrity, and willingness to adapt to camp setting
General Responsibility:
Plan and teach Tennis skills to various age groups, keep records on all campers, assist in supervision for safety.

Supervise safety conditions at Tennis Courts
Maintain and care for equipment, inventory, storage etc.
Campers are assigned by:
1. Group
2. Senior electives
3. Tournament team
4. Inter-camp game
5. Ladder tournament
6. USTA tournament practice.
7. Free Play
Director of tennis program should be skilled in tennis, and comfortable instructing children of all ages and skill levels. They should have strong communication skills, and be able to also lead a team of a young counselor staff. They should have a high capacity for fun, but able to execute a strong program over the course of 7 weeks.
Housing, food, and laundry are included.
We provide a bus to staff 5 nights per week, and on day off days to Lake George.
