Head Tennis Coach - Junior Development

Job Summary

We have the opportunity for an experienced Tennis Professional to inspire our youngest juniors to fall in love with the game of tennis and develop their skills through to tournament & competition levels & beyond.

We have been providing our local community with coaching, competition, social play, court hire & membership opportunities for over 20years.

Set in beautifully landscaped gardens with 3 artificial grass courts, 2 hard courts, onsite cafe, Pickleball courts and outdoor table tennis tables, it really is a place the entire family will enjoy.

Job duties and responsibilities

• Head up our Modified Tennis Pathway (Hotshots & Futures Programs)
• Plan & deliver Group Coaching Lessons to children aged 3yrs of age through to Adults
• Manage a team of Junior Coaches who assist with the delivery of our modified tennis programs.
• Provide Structured & Progressive weekly Lesson Plans to coaches delivering modified tennis classes at the centre.
• Manage delivery of school lessons & cultivate local school tennis numbers.
• Plan & deliver Squad Programs
• Plan & coordinate Matchplay Programs, compile & communicate weekly scores & points ladder.
• Plan & deliver a memorable finals day at the end of each matchplay season.
• Plan & deliver & coordinate Private Lessons
• Initiate Customer Care plans and provide feedback
• Promote and grow your customer base
• Coordinate Social Tennis Programs
• Host Pickleball sessions
• Assist with grounds & facility maintenance
• Asset management & centre presentation
• Customer communication
• Supervision & team management of Inter club competitions

Candidate qualifications and skills

You have a love of teaching and provide a safe and inclusive environment for your pupils to learn in.  You have experience coaching children from as young as 3yrs of age & pride yourself on delivering programs that are the highlight of your students week.

You can work autonomously and in a team environment & enjoy mentoring young coaches at the start of their coaching career.

You have the personality & skills required to drive a range of social & competitive adult programs in the evenings as well as deliver group & private coaching lessons.  You enjoy helping people reach their goals & are a really good communicator!

Minimum Requirements:

• Development Level 1 or equivalent qualification (level 2 preferred)
• 3+years experience coaching modified tennis programs (Hotshots, Mini Tennis etc)
• Drivers licence & Own Transport
• First Aid Certificate (or intention to get one prior to commencement)
• Working with Children Blue Card (or intention to get one prior to commencement)

Pure Tennis Ferny Hills is an approved sponsor for the Temporary Activity visa (subclass 408) Sporting Activities stream which allows coaches to work at Pure Tennis Ferny Hills for up to two years and costs from AUD $430.    Please ensure you fit the eligibility criteria to apply for this visa before applying for this position.

Ideally we would like to transition the successful applicant into the role by starting you in a supported casual role in Term 2 with a full time Head Coach role commencing at the start of Term 3 (13th July 2026).
