International Tennis Coach needed in Shenzhen, China!

We are looking to hire 2 native English-speaking, enthusiastic and versatile coaches to help run our range of programmes at our tennis academy.

The experience of a new country, especially one with such comparatively different cultural practices, provides a coach an opportunity to push themselves out of their comfort zone. Venue and Company description

We are a Leading International Tennis Academy based in Shenzhen, China. We coach tennis to students in English using LTA/PTR/GPTCA coaches.

We hire courts in several high-quality external venues which are top 10 tennis center in Shenzhen City, namely The Hilton Hotel, Shenzhen Bay Sports Center and OCT Sports Center. We have also developed partnerships with 8 International schools in Shenzhen where we provide ASA (After School Activities) Tennis lessons, as well as Chinese Public Schools where we offer daytime P.E classes.

Shenzhen is located in the South of China, just above Hong Kong. The city is one of the four ‘Tier 1’ cities in China (the others are Beijing, Shanghai Guangzhou) and is currently one of the 10 fastest growing cities in the world. The city boasts a modern and affordable metro system and is now located 15 minutes from Hong Kong by High Speed Train.

The cost of living in China is much lower than US. Meals tend to be around $3 and metro journeys cost no more than $0.70 a day. It is therefore easy for employees to save money so that they can go travelling during their holidays.

Job duties and responsibilities

Tennis coaching:

• 25-35 hours of coaching a week – all in English
• Individual and group coaching
• Mini tennis, cardio tennis and schools tennis
• Help run and organise competitions
• Run promotional events at schools and new base

Office Work:

• Write reports for all students per semester
• Attend relevant weekly/monthly meetings

Candidate qualifications and skills

Candidates will need to have the following qualifications and experience:

• Relevant coaching qualification certificate
• Experience in delivering mini tennis from ages 4-13, especially to beginners
• Experience in delivering both group and individual sessions
• DBS certificate/ no criminal record
• Patience, adaptability and awareness and understanding of potential language and cultural differences
• High School/Degree Certificates for VISA application

Benefits

Salary:

• Base Salary: $2000 per month
• $42 pounds per hour after 80 coaching hours per month filled.
• Once schedule is filled (takes up to 4/5 months) expect to earn $3000 per month (post-tax)
• Quarterly bonus of $650: 360 coaching hours or more per 3 months
• Annual year-end bonus: $3600 per year.

Additional benefits:

• Visa/working permit/agency fee/translation fee: $3000 value.
• Insurance fee paid for: $1300per year.
• $750 pounds value Air ticket reimbursement for first year.
• Free gym membership at the Hilton Hotel: $1200 per year value.
• 18 days paid holiday a year.
• Potential to discuss 25 days unpaid holiday in order to travel.
