Roland Garros: 4 players win
What a day. We had six players in the running, 4 advanced, Thiemo and Fernando lost. The victory of Maria Kirilenko was my favorite of the day. She defeated defending champion Svetlana Kuznetsova in the third round.
Thiemo had a good tournament and played a good match against Tsonga. I believe he would have had a very good chance of winning the match if he had also won the second tie-break. Mats wasn't in the box of Thiemo this time because Thiemo and Tsonga are both Adidas players.
You can compare this situation with two players who are supported by an national Tennis Association. If for instance Thiemo de Bakker and Robin Haase (both supported by the Royal Dutch Tennis Association) would be playing against each other, both national coaches, Rohan Goetzke and Jan Siemerink, would not be in box for support.
Today we are training with Morita, the #1 junior (girls). Verdasco and Hantuchova both have a singles match to play and Hantuchova also has a doubles match with Wozniacki. Is that all for today? No...Krilienko is playing a doubles match with Radwanska and we have a training session with Esther Vergeer. Enough work to do.
PS: Glad to see so many tennis fans at Roland Garros this year. That's what it's all about.
